Advanced make up

Corrective make-up will help maximise the good features of the face and minimise the features that the client is unhappy with. These techniques can be utilised in a day and evening make-up application although use of highlighters and shiny products are often unsuitable for day make-up.
Corrective make-up techniques will be included in a professional make-up treatment and some useful tips will be passed onto the client.

I have uneven lips. The upper lip is smaller than the bottom lip. Can I apply corrective make-up to help this?

Yes. Using a lip pencil draw the outline of the top lip slightly outside the natural lip line to help balance. A slightly lighter lipstick colour used on the top lip can also help should the lip pencil not have the total effect desired.

Can a double chin be corrected by make-up?

Yes. Applying a shader to the full area of the chin may reduce this. This shade needs to be slightly darker than the foundation but not so dark that it gives the appearance of a dirty chin. This technique is more suitable for evening make-up than day as it tends to be too obvious under daylight
