Fashion make up

This type of make-up can break all the guidelines. Colours and shades can be as fashion dictates and often the suitability to the actual person is forgotten. Fashion make-up can be applied skilfully and adapted to the person. A professional Therapist can offer advice in the latest trends and what actually suits you. Fashion make-up can also refer to make-up used on the catwalk. The techniques used for evening make-up are often applied. However as the lighting is much stronger the make-up has to be applied in much greater depth to enable it to be seen.

Fashion make-up can be fun, whatever the occasion, enjoy it!

I am modelling a local fashion show and will be under the spotlights. As I do not normally wear a lot of make-up, do you have any tips?

Define the shape of the eyes, eyebrows and lips; do not forget blusher as it shapes your face. Ideally you should wear foundation, however if your complexion is smooth you may be able to wear a fine dusting of loose face powder.

To keep the make-up cool, spray with a fine mineral spray and dust with loose face powder regularly.

Does artificial light really have an effect on make-up?

Yes. The effects of on the make-up depends on the colour of the light. For example;.yellowish light in standard light bulbs dulls the blue toned colours and makes reds look darker. Fluorescent lamps give out a harsh blue white light, which takes the warmth out of the make-up colours. Generally whatever the colour of the light, it will not be as strong as daylight. Under artificial light shadows are often cast and colours change or disappear. Evening make-up needs to consist of stronger colours creating depth thus defining the eyes, lips and mouth.
