Micro epidermal abrasion & microdermabrasion

Micro Epidermal Abrasion or Micro Dermabrasion is a mechanical method of skin peeling.

There are a variety of products and treatments available designed to remove the dead skin cells (sometimes referred to as desquamation) that build up on the surface of the skin. Some products are slightly abrasive whereas others have ingredients that digest the dead skin cells gently.

Most are applied with the finger tips or a sponge. In a professional facial a variety of products may be used depending on the skin type. Dermabraison can be a salon treatment if mechanical, whereas a chemical Dermabrasion treatment would be carried out by a Dermatologist. This type of intensive treatment can be used on Acne skins, oily congested skins or as a treatment for stressed skin.

How would chemical Dermabrasion work on Acne?

The treatment takes the skin layers off to remove the infected and scared areas. The skin red and open (like a graze) until it heals. The new skin cells produce a smoother texture of skin. This treatment is only given by Dermatologists.

How will Micro Epidermal abrasion work on my skin?

It will consist of a facial treatment in a salon. With the use of products and machines it will gently remove the dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. It is not as severe as a chemical peel given by a Dermatologist.
