Changing Levels in Scotland

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced today that while Scotland will remain on a levels system for now, without a complete lockdown, some areas will move to level 4 from 6pm on Friday the 20th November and remain in place for 3 weeks until Friday the 11th December.  She advised that this was a regrettable but necessary decision in order to prevent the pressure on the NHS in those regions from becoming intolerable. The restrictions for Level 4 unfortunately do include the closure of close contact services.

Those areas confirmed as moving into Level 4 from Friday are as follows:

East Ayrshire, East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Glasgow City, North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, South Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire, Stirling, West Dunbartonshire and West Lothian.

All hair & beauty businesses (including mobile) in level 4 areas will therefore sadly be required to close for the 3 week period. For a full breakdown of the restrictions in level 4 please click here or for a summarised table click here.

A glimmer of good news is that East Lothian and Midlothian will both move from Level 3 to Level 2 on the 24th November.
