England back in Tiers

England back in Tiers

As announced by the Prime Minister last week England has today gone back to a 3 Tier system (click here to view details). To check which tier you fall into you can enter your postcode click here.  For a breakdown of the decisions behind which areas have been assigned to which tier you can access parliament's written statement from the 26th November here.

All Hair & Beauty (including mobile) may now reopen regardless of which tier you fall into, provided that you follow the guidance, which has been updated and can be accessed here. Please note - Saunas and Steam Rooms are now allowed to remain open in tier 3 too. This is an amendment to government's previous guidance.

As businesses in England were allowed to return a day earlier than expected we received some queries from concerned members looking for confirmation that the 28 day grants would still be paid. BEIS did confirm to us that this would be the case.

Northern Ireland's additional 2 week circuit breaker began on Friday 27th November and runs until the 11th December. For full details click here

Scotland remains on the tier system and it was confirmed that those areas currently in Level 4 will be reviewed with the hope of lifting that restriction on the 11th December at 6pm. Some additional extensions were made yesterday to make grants available to parents of self isolating children under 16. Please click here for further details.

Wales announced tighter restrictions for pubs and restaurants ahead of Christmas yesterday but currently no further rules that affect hair & beauty.
