In the past BABTAC have covered human trafficking in VITALITY articles and through our blog, now we are joining forces with Unseen in a campaign to raise awareness and money to support the victims of human trafficking.
Last year families, celebrities, businesses and community groups across the country painted their nails neon yellow to raise awareness of slavery in nail salons during Unseen’s ‘Let’s Nail It’ campaign.
The end of 2016 saw the industry we’re proud of hit the headlines again as police raided salons because of modern slavery, with more than 60 businesses facing fines. These headlines impact all of us, making customers wary and unsure of how choose a reputable salon.
In response to this, BABTAC are partnering with anti-slavery charity Unseen on ‘Let’s Nail It’ 2017! We’re encouraging you to donate £1 per nail treatment during the campaign week to support a survivor of modern slavery. In return, you will benefit from national publicity, free campaign materials and lots of support to talk to your customers about why they should visit a BABTAC approved salon like you.
We want to let the public know that decent salons are working together to take on modern slavery in the beauty industry and to do this we need you to join us. Together, Let’s Nail It.
How your salon can get involved
‘Let’s Nail It’ will run from 16th- 23rd October 2017. Unseen will send you a free campaign pack with everything you need!
