Wouldn't you like to know - Krestyna Batty

Krestyna Batty might be the Director of Janssen Cosmetics UK Ltd but this CIBTAC examiner also knows how to party, especially when the festivities call for her special 'Reindeer' dance...

Where is home?
I've moved house 38 times in 24 years so bricks and mortar don't mean too much to me - home is wherever my husband and kids are.

Why is it important to be part of BABTAC/CIBTAC?
They represent quality and high standards and is why I have always strived to be part of this organisation and to support them. I've been a CIBTAC examiner for 10 years and my CIBTAC qualifications have opened so many doors for me overseas.

Talk us through your role at Janssen Cosmetics...
My most important role is building the brand - we are now the fastest growing skincare company in the UK and have won various awards including the most innovative product of the year with our Epigenetic serum. I'm also an international trainer for the parent company. I find it incredibly interesting to see beauty and aesthetics in action in so many different countries - it means I'm constantly learning.

Whats the last thing you learnt?
I completed a fantastic online course by MASCED on identification of melanoma. I'd urge anyone to take it as it only costs £20, takes just one evening to complete and helps you diagnose possible skin cancer.

Are there any hair and beauty products you cant live without?
Easy - my Anti Wrinkle Booster ampoules - Fabulous, tiny, intensive, fast action vials that hydrate, plump, deliver radiance, relax muscle and lift within an hour!

What's exciting you in the industry right now?
The new skin perfector. It has all the benefits of microneedling but without the blood, emla and toe curling. Its my best new treatment!

Who inspires you?
John, my husband, has proved that anything is possible with planning and dedication and Guy, my business mentor in Australia who is fabulous, bright, inspirational person and taught me that you should never think you are stupid, you just haven't been shown how to do it yet!

If you could escape to a spa which one would it be?
I recently visited the McDonald Hotel and Spa at Windermere and had a great afternoon tea, followed by a facial and massage and I really enjoyed the treatments. I'm going back to the Lake District soon so I might go back!

Do you have any party tricks?
My favorite is filling a pair of tights with five part filled balloons down each leg, pulling the pant part part over my head and dancing around as a reindeer - yes, I am quite mad.

Where will you be for Christmas?
In Aspull. My son lives in China and will be coming back so it will be fabulous. Every Christmas morning I wake up to a mini glass of Baileys and a Cadbury Flake!

What would you like to have waiting for you under the tree?
Lots of little treats rather than one big one - I just like ripping off the paper and having the surprise so I don't mind if its a toblerone!
